Requirements

WordPress & PHP​

  • WordPress 6.0 or newer
  • PHP 8.1 or newer

Builder and target​

  • Bricks Builder must be installed and usable on the source site.
  • Etch must be installed on the target site that receives the migrated content.

For larger sites and the migration admin UI, we recommend in particular:

  • max_input_vars 3000 or higher (avoids common issues with very large option sets / Step 2 checkboxes).

Your host panel (PHP settings) or Tools → Site Health in WordPress shows the concrete values for your install.

Network (online migrations)​

For an online migration, the source and target must be able to reach each other over HTTPS for the pairing and batch traffic you configure. Firewalls, security plugins, or CDNs on shared hosting can interfere with pairing or long-running requests—see Hosting notes.
